Dear

The EU (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill, Second Reading 6 December, 9.30 am

I am writing to you as my Member of Parliament to ask you to attend the Second Reading debate of
the EU (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill and to speak and vote in favour of it.

The Bill is the first item of business on Friday 6 th December, and it is anticipated that it will be
debated from 9.30 am until 2.30 pm.

This is a matter for the whole United Kingdom and not just Northern Ireland and one that I, as your
constituent, care deeply about.

The Brexit referendum was the biggest expression of democracy in our history and yet Brexit has not
yet been delivered to the whole country and the EU is using the fact it has kept Northern Ireland in
its single market to press the whole UK to conform to EU law. This is in order to prevent divergence
between NI and GB. Their approach is clearly bearing fruit right now as seen in the very far-reaching
Product Regulation and Metrology Bill 1 , the Windsor Framework (Retail Movement Scheme: Plant
and Animal Health) (Amendment etc.) Regulations 2024 2 and the Radio Equipment (Amendment)
(Northern Ireland) Regulations 2024. 3

This makes a mockery of Brexit and is completely unacceptable to a free and democratic people.

The good news is that there is an alternative way of protecting the integrity of the EU Single Market,
the UK Single Market, and of Brexit, that does not involve dividing our country into two, keeping one
part of it in the EU Single Market from which it can then seek to control the rest of the country.

The EU (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill makes provision for the integrity of both the UK Single
Market, including Northern Ireland, and the EU Single Market, while respecting the Good Friday
Agreement and not requiring infrastructure on the UK-ROI land border.

Please prioritise attending this debate and speaking and voting in favour of the Bill.

Your response to this issue will determine how I vote at the next election.

Please could you let me know whether you will be attending.

Yours sincerely,
